The Collection

The Collection

The Evans Poetry Collection is an epic collection of poetry, philosophy, and word art produced by national award winner and emerging poet John D. Evans of Chicago, Illinois USA.

A timeless classic, the journey chronicled began with a diary.  A dreamer, Jondee takes readers along on a sojourn from the rich coasts of West Africa to the busy streets of present-day Chicago.  In Acres of Green and Oceans of Blue: Diary of a Runaway (2000), he takes readers along on his quest for love and respect.

With sincere and heart-felt words, phrases, and ideas, he celebrates life and individuality in More Than a Club Kid: Man Versus Self (2002).  Evans tells the world that "(he) can not stop and will not stop..." in  his colorful portrait of young adult life in Chicago in Things That Make My World Go 'Round: A Poetic Memoir (2003).  Evans continues to write what he hears in How Deep I Can Be: Lessons and Confessions (2005).

John D. Evans takes readers on bold and unashamed journeys.  He  writes with a passion for his craft with classically-inspired offerings.  His poetry is sincere, yet creative.  His poems, each, have their own distinct message, style, and form.  Each book has its own personality and tone containing lyric, narrative, and dramatic poetry.  Altogether, his books take readers on an epic journey of life.
